Hellenic Navy welcomed three new US-made Romeo MH-60R Seahawk helicopters in its assets.
The ceremony of the Hellenic Navy’s three new Romeo MH-60R Seahawk anti-submarine helicopters, took place at the Kotroni Air Base on Wednesday, March 20,2024.
“Greece even stronger,” Defense Minister Nikos Dendias wrote in a post on the delivery of the helicopters.
Greece ordered MH-60R helicopters in two phases. Four were ordered in July 2020 and three more in April 2021. Following the delivery of the first 3 helicopters, the remaining 4 will arrive in 2025, completing the Greek Navy’s purchase.
Greece is the seventh country to receive the U.S. Navy’s MH-60R maritime helicopter. In Europe, Denmark operates nine MH-60R aircraft. Spain and Norway placed orders in 2023 for a combined 14 MH-60R aircraft.
