Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias highlighted Greece’s strong ties with the UAE during IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi, emphasizing their 2020 Defence Alliance. He also visited the frigate HYDRA, participating in Operation ASPIDES, showcasing Greece’s role in regional and European security.

Greece’s Minister of National Defence, recently delivered a speech at the Hellenic Pavilion during IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He highlighted the strong ties between Greece and the UAE, emphasizing their 2020 Defence Alliance agreement. The Defence Alliance between Greece and the UAE, signed in 2020, marked a significant step in bilateral relations, aiming to counter regional security challenges and promote stability. This partnership has since expanded to include economic, political, and cultural cooperation.

Nikos Dendias also commended Enterprise Greece and the Hellenic Aerospace Security & Defense Industries Group (HASDIG) for their efforts in ensuring Greece’s significant presence at this globally important exhibition.

During his visit, Dendias visited the Frigate HYDRA, which is participating in European Naval Operation ASPIDES (EUNAVFOR ASPIDES). He described the mission as one of high national and European symbolism, underscoring Greece’s role as a pillar of security and stability in the region.
