The President of the Hellenic Republic visits the Ministry of National Defense
The President of the Hellenic Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas, made his first visit to the Ministry of National Defense (MoND) after assuming office.
He was welcomed by the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, the Deputy Minister, Athanasios Davakis, as well as the military leadership of the Armed Forces, led by the Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (HNDGS), General Dimitrios Choupis.
This visit took place just days before the national anniversary of March 25th and ahead of the President’s first official trip to Cyprus, following the tradition that each President of the Hellenic Republic visits the island after taking office.

At the MoND, the President received a detailed briefing on the security situation in the broader region, the mission and operations of the Armed Forces, as well as the ongoing reforms under the framework of “Agenda 2030“.
Also present at the briefing were the Secretary-General Antonios Oikonomou, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Air Marshal Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, along with General Directors and senior officials of the Ministry of National Defense.

During the briefing, live connections were established with the Farmakonisi Surveillance Outpost, the Frigate HYDRA, and the Readiness Detachment of the 133rd Combat Wing (133 CW) in Crete.
Through these live connections, Konstantinos Tasoulas was briefed respectively by the Chief Guard of the Surveillance Outpost regarding the personnel’s mission, by the Commander of the Frigate HYDRA on its participation in Operation “ASPIS” in the Red Sea, and by the head of the Readiness Detachment of the 133 CW on its operational mission.
