Meeting of Deputy Minister of National Defense Kefalogiannis with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Innovation, Hybrid and Cyber (ASG/IHC)
The Deputy Minister of National Defense, Giannis Kefalogiannis, met today, with the NATO Assistant Secretary General for Innovation, Hybrid and Cyber (ASG/IHC), Jean Charles Ellermann-Kingombe, at the Ministry of National Defense.
The meeting focused on critical issues such as the utilization of cutting-edge technologies in the defense sector, accelerating NATO’s defense innovation, protecting critical underwater infrastructure, and the strategic role of the Southeastern Mediterranean as a telecommunications and energy hub.
Particular emphasis was placed on international and regional developments, with the situation in Ukraine and the Eastern Mediterranean at the center of discussions.

Mr. Kefalogiannis highlighted Greece’s role as a pillar of stability and security in the region, emphasizing the reforms of the Greek government and the Ministry of National Defense to develop the Defense Industry and enhance innovation in the Armed Forces.
In this context, special reference was made to the Hellenic Center for Defense Innovation (ELKAK), which, since its establishment in 2024, has delivered significant and tangible results.
