A Passing Exercise (PASSEX) took place between the Hellenic Navy and the Indian Navy in the Arabian Sea, strengthening bilateral naval cooperation and interoperability.
The exercise featured the Greek Frigate HYDRA (F452) and the Indian Frigate TARKASH (F50), with both warships engaging in a series of operational drills. Throughout the PASSEX, communication drills, advanced maneuvers, and personnel exchanges were conducted to enhance coordination between the two navies. The name “Tarkash” is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “Quiver of Arrows.”
A key highlight of the training was the participation of the Underwater Demolition Team (UDT) from Frigate HYDRA, which trained alongside their Indian counterparts on non-consensual boarding procedures. This critical exercise focuses on securing and inspecting suspicious vessels in maritime security operations.
