Greece buys 7 Canadair CL 515 First Responder firefighting aircraft half a century after procurement of Canadair CL 215s.
That was announced by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias on Friday, March 15 2024, during his speech in the Greek Parliament as part of the deliberation on the bill titled “Approval of a Draft Contract for the Supply of DHC-515 Aircraft.
5 of 7 Canadair CL-515will be financed through the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF, ESPA) and European programs and the other 2 Canadair will financed through the RescEU program.
2 Canadair CL-515 will be delivered in 2027, 1 aircraft in 2028, 1 aircraft in 2029 and 3 aircraft in 2030. The supply will also cover the initial spare parts inventory of the 7 aircraft, as well as the corresponding support equipment.
